About AVK South Africa

AVK Valves Southern Africa was founded in 1994 by Mr. Tjaart van der Walt and Mr Basil Starke.

It operated as an agency for AVK International for a period of 2 years.In 1996 it became a full sales company (subsidiary) of the AVK Group with the current ownership of 33,3% Tjaart van der Walt, 33,3% Basil Starke and 33,3% AVK Holdings (International). 

AVK has since it's inception become on of the leading valve suppliers for the water, sewage and mining as well as fire protection industries on the African continent. 

AVK South Africa has two branches, a main warehouse situated in Pretoria and a distribution warehouse situated in Cape Town.

With numerous agents like DPI Incledon, Sizabantu Piping, D&D Amanzi, Floquip, Intermine Enginering etc. We are responsible for supplying the product range to all regions on the African continent, south of the equator.

We maintain very high stock levels of  valves and accessories to supply the demand of all sub saharan countries with the majority market share of almost 60% on the continent.

Being fully aware that we are unable to control all our markets from one central place, we have local sales distributors in most of the countries on the African continent.

The Energy Division has a leadership position within control, distribution, and measuring in the field of gas and district heating.
The High-Tech Division focuses on niche fields such as rubber technology, industrial components for automation industry, tools for CNC-machines and factory material handling systems.
The brands we hold include Glenfield Valves, Eurovalve Wouter Witzel, World Valve, Byran Donkin (Gas), Mittelmann Armaturen, Hauten Marnaise (HMSM), Guest & Chrimes, Blakeborough etc. and these broaden the AVK range and allows us to cater to sectors requiring valves that are under the avk umbrella but not manufactured under the AVK brand.
